Past-Present-Future: Surmang and amara
Surmang Foundation is the partnership of Surmang Foundation (USA) and Surmang Foundation Europe.
Surmang Foundation is a place-specific philanthropy, and supports the Surmang Charity Medical Center, SCMC. SCMC is a primary care clinic and ancillary services such as Community Health Workers, and the training of the doctors and women who are the clinic and the CHWs.
Amara is the project that will use the Surmang prototype to create a network of 30 Surmang-like clinics in the catchment of China's ultra-poor (those who earn less than ¥1/day (US 14¢).
